National Park Project Clues

Dear Partner Classrooms,

We began researching our National Park this week and are learning all sorts of interesting facts.  Can you guess what National Park we are studying?  Here are some clues...

  • It is the hottest National Park.  It is famous because it is dry, hot, and sandy.
  • You will see these animals in our National Park:

Bighorn Sheep

Coyotes

  • The plants all have very interesting adaptations that help them survive.  Here is one interesting plant, the Beavertail Cactus.  Why do you think it is called Beavertail??"  This plant has spikes that you can't see very well.  Our research team says that the plant can actually shoot its spikes.

  • You will also find a large quantity of a useful mineral called Borax in our National Park.

  • There are also a lot of mysteries in our National Park.  Does your park have any mysteries?

If you have a guess, leave a comment below!
